January 27, 2013 Reading - Poet Picasso

POET PICASSO -  On Sunday January 27, Ancient City Poets will hold a special reading called “Poet Picasso” in anticipation of “Viva Picasso” the extraordinary exhibit that is coming to the Visitor Information Center in
downtown St. Augustine, Florida in early February of 2013. The event will be conducted “renga” style with no master of ceremonies. Poets will come up to the podium one by one, introduce themselves and present their poem or observation. The poetry celebration will be held at The Gallery CafĂ© of St. Augustine, Florida (located at 1974 US-1 South in the Staples Plaza) from 3 to 5 p.m. There will be no sign-up sheet this time around. Poets are invited to approach the podium, introduce themselves and then read an original poem or something from a favorite poet relating to the art, life, or inspiration of Pablo Picasso. If each poet shares for five minutes then we will have time for fifteen readers. Question or more info: contact Chris Bodor, the group's facilitator.

Here is a playlist of songs and sounds that relate to the theme of Picasso - the man, his work, and his inspiration. We will play this playlist at 2:15 while we transfor the resteraunt into a coffee house. Come early, check out the tunes, get to know fellow poets and poetry lovers. Also, come early to get a good seat. If you come late, please think about bringing your own folding chair.
