Last Sunday St. Augustine Spoken Word –
In observation of National Literacy Month, Ancient City Poets will present a poetry reading and book give away from 3 to 5 pm at City Coffee Company, 1280-A North Ponce De Leon Blvd (near the Village Inn) on Sunday September 26. Faculty advisors from academic literary magazines are invited to join James Wilson (The Flagler Review, Flagler College) and Rick Ryan (Ascension, Pedro Menendez High School) to showcase the written words of their student staff. There will also be an open mic portion hosted by Chris Bodor from the St. Johns Cultural Council for all those who wish to share a poem or two. The Ancient City Poets have been gathering on the last Sunday of the month since August of last year. The event is free and open to the public.
